NLCC Core Values

Key to our belief is that our relationship with Jesus Christ today is both intellectual and experiential. We are to know about Him and at the same time experience Him in real and tangible ways as believers in Him through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.

God: There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the creator and sustainer of the universe and everything in it.

Jesus: Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross for our sins. He was resurrected and now sits at the right hand of the Father. He is coming again to establish His Kingdom of righteousness and peace.

Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is a divine person, sent to indwell, guide, teach and empower the believer, and to convict the lost of sin, of judgment and their need for a Savior.

Bible: The Bible is God's Word, without error and totally trustworthy. It is the complete revelation of God's will for the salvation of man through Jesus. It is our guide for living the victorious and joyful Christian life.

Salvation: All people are sinners and can only receive forgiveness through believing in Jesus and accepting the sacrifice that He made on the cross for them. Those who receive Jesus as their Savior and commit themselves to Him will be blessed with a personal relationship with Him and eternal life.

Church: The church is made up of believers in Jesus who come together for worship, fellowship, prayer, and the teaching of God's Word. Our goal is to build lasting bonds of love, concern and accountability between brothers and sisters in Christ.

Family: We believe that the family is instituted by God and should be supported and nurtured by the church. Children are a gift from God and precious in His sight. We promote family love, health and unity.

World Missions: Every Christian has been called of God to engage in world missions. We may not be called to go abroad, but we have many other tools at our disposal to be able to effectively engage in reaching the world for Jesus Christ by sharing the gospel message around the globe.
